At the T20 World Cup, England managed to make it into the Super 8s in order to continue their championship defence.
Here’s all you need to know about the Caribbean round two, including the schedule and location of England’s match, the whole fixture list, and the format’s operation.
What follows and who are these “Super 8”?
Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, India, South Africa, USA, and West Indies are the remaining teams, with the exception of England. The eight teams are divided into two groups of four.
- Group 1: Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Australia, and India
- Group 2: England, South Africa, the USA, and the West Indies
The top two teams from each group advance to the semi-finals in the Super 8s, where each team plays the other once in their pool.
In the semi-finals, the champions of Group 1 will face the second-place team from Group 2, and vice versa.
To facilitate scheduling, it was predetermined which Super 8 group teams advanced into.
The three seeded teams who did not advance to the second round were Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand; accordingly, they were defeated by the United States, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
Where and when is England’s game?

Jos Buttler’s side’s hopes of progressing into the next phase were hanging by the proverbial thread but they then dismantled Oman – razing the associate nation for 47 before completing the run chase in just 19 balls to, crucially, take their net run rate above Scotland’s.
They then managed to beat the rain and Namibia in Antigua on Saturday, comfortably winning a 10-over-a-side encounter by 41 runs on DLS after initially fearing a tournament-ending washout, before attention turned to Australia vs Scotland in St Lucia hours later.
Despite the fact that Jos Buttler’s team’s chances of advancing to the next stage were virtually nil, they completely destroyed Oman, smashing the associate nation for 47 runs and winning the run chase in just 19 balls and, most importantly, raise their net run rate beyond Scotland’s.
After first worrying that the event would be lost due to rain, they defeated Namibia and the 10-over-a-side match on Saturday in Antigua by 41 runs on DLS. A few hours later, the focus shifted to Australia vs. Scotland in St Lucia.
